AIDA Imaging NDI® FAQ:
What benefits can NDI® technology bring to my workflow?
NDI® allows for the ease of sending and receiving video over a network. Being able to automatically find NDI® sources on the network makes streaming so much simpler and hassle-free, while maintaining the quality of your traditional workflows. Simply put, allowing control, video and even power to a camera via 1 cable makes the job easy.
What is the typical latency found on AIDA’s NDI®|HX?
Our POV and PTZ NDI®|HX latency hovers around 70 millseconds, which is basically the same as your traditional uncompressed SDI and HDMI latencys! Of course this is under ideal test conditions, which includes a gigabit switch, PC with GFX card, and cat5+ cable.
Whats the difference between NDI®|HX? and High Bandwidth NDI?
High bandwidth NDI®, or colloquially known as “Full-NDI” allows for a maxmium bitrate of up to 150mb (1080p60) to flow. For NDI®HX, it takes only a fraction of the bitrate, taking about 16mb (1080p60) of data per HX stream. Traditionally, High Bandwidth NDI® was favorably viewed because of its uncompressed video quality, but NDI® 5 technology has finally evolved to a point where the differences between the two are barely noticeable!
